Meet the Guv! (He's the One on the Far Right [but not politically])
Ben and Logan met Missouri's governor, Democat Jay Nixon, today at the Springfield Veteran's Cemetery. We all attended a Memorial Day ceremony arranged by Grandpa Steve who is the director of the cemetery.

I retired as a technical writer years ago. Since then I've spent my time reading, writing, rabble-rousing and raising my two orphaned grandsons. Because they are now grown,I still spend time reading, writing, quilting, and in advocacy for many causes. Don't get me started on politics. My day-to-day life is fairly quiet, but my fantasy life is soaring, and I take mental excursions almost as good as the real thing.

Wow--that's a very impressive way to spend Memorial Day. I just went on a bike ride to Old Sac to catch the tail end of the Dixieland Jazz Jubilee, but I did hear some patriotic music (actually, I guess "When the Saints Go Marching In" doesn't quite qualify as patriotic...wrong kind of marching.)
